Wonjung Jung

Wonjung Jung is a Part-Time Lecturer affiliated with Virginia Tech's College of Natural Resources and Environment (Department of Sustainable Biomaterials) and the School of Visual Arts. She also teaches at New River Community College. With over 15 years of experience, she specializes in interdisciplinary art and design education, including sustainable packaging solutions.

Research Focus: Wonjung integrates graphic design, illustration, painting, and art history to develop innovative sustainable packaging methodologies. Her work emphasizes practical applications in environmental design, fostering student creativity through cross-disciplinary connections between artistic expression and engineering principles.

Awards:

• Grand Prize for children's literature from the Korean Christian Publisher Association (2011)

She has published five children's picture books and pioneered Virginia Tech's packaging design curriculum, establishing it as a nationally recognized program.
