Oksana Chorna

Oksana Chorna is a Doctoral Researcher and Research Fellow at the Research Centre for East European Studies, affiliated with the University of Bremen (Germany). She is part of the CRC 1342 Global Dynamics of Social Policy project, focusing on social policy and democratic processes in post-Soviet contexts.

Her research explores social policy in Ukraine under war conditions, social care for internally displaced people, and democratic processes in post-Soviet countries, with a focus on civil society, volunteers, and social movements. Her work contributes to understanding regime stability in authoritarian contexts through social policy analysis.

Oksana has participated in data collection for projects on political elites in post-socialist Europe and has a background in journalism. Her recent publication (2022) on political elites in Central and Eastern Europe reflects her expertise in comparative political analysis and long-term societal trends.
