Andreas Heinrich is a Senior Researcher at the University of Bremen, affiliated with the Research Centre for East European Studies since 2009 and the Collaborative Research Centre 1342 since 2018. His work focuses on international political economy, political regimes with authoritarian tendencies, knowledge transfer by international organizations, healthcare policy, and Soviet welfare systems.
He has extensively studied geopolitical dynamics surrounding energy, particularly oil and gas export pipelines from the post-Soviet region. His research examines the interplay between energy security, corporate governance, and policy learning in authoritarian regimes, with a regional focus on Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.
