Ojārs Pētersons serves as a Lecturer at the Latvian Academy of Arts, where he has taught since 1990 in the Visual Communication Department and currently leads the KAS (Movement. Image. Sound) Department as its head since 2015.
His academic foundation includes:
- 1970–1975: Riga Applied Arts Secondary School, Wood Sculpture Department
- 1975–1980: Latvian Academy of Arts, Design Department
Mr. Pētersons' creative and pedagogical work spans Visual Arts, Sculpture, and Visual Communication, with a distinct focus on multimedia integration as evidenced by his leadership of the KAS Department exploring movement, imagery, and sound. His continuous participation in art exhibitions since 1976 demonstrates a lifelong commitment to artistic practice that bridges traditional sculptural techniques with contemporary visual expression.
Throughout his 30+ year academic career, he has shaped curricula and mentored students within Latvia's premier art institution, maintaining active engagement in both educational leadership and the national arts community through regular exhibitions.
