Ofer Zeitouni is a Global Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. His primary affiliation is with the Department of Mathematics, where he holds a Professor rank. His research focuses on probability theory, stochastic processes, random matrix theory, large deviations, and mathematical physics. He is the co-author of books such as An Introduction to Random Matrices (with Anderson and Guionnet) and Large Deviations Techniques and Applications.
Zeitouni's work includes foundational contributions to branching random walks, Gaussian free fields, and the study of large deviations in stochastic systems. He has published extensively in leading journals and has authored lecture notes on topics such as RWRE (Random Walk in Random Environment) and isomorphism theorems. His email is zeitouni@cims.nyu.edu.
Despite his prolific output, his profile emphasizes that he typically declines requests for evaluations unless from current/past students, postdocs, or collaborators. His research interests and publications reflect deep engagement with theoretical probability and its applications.
