Dr. Odile Janne is a Lecturer at Birkbeck Business School, specializing in International Business and Innovation. She holds dual roles as Lecturer and Lecturer in International Business and Innovation. Her research focuses on the geography of innovation, corporate technological change, multinational networks, regional development, and intellectual property rights. She contributes to the Strategy and International Business (SIB) Research Group and the Centre for Innovation Management Research at Birkbeck, and is affiliated with the John H Dunning Centre for International Business at the University of Reading.
Teaching responsibilities include modules on Entrepreneurship, International Business Strategy, Innovation Management, and Strategic Management. She has co-authored books such as International Business in a Multi-Speed Global Economy (2017) and Technological Change and Mature Industrial Regions (2009). Her work explores MNC subsidiary strategies, knowledge sharing, and regional innovation dynamics, with publications presented at global conferences like the Academy of International Business Annual Meeting.
Odile’s research emphasizes the interplay between global business operations and regional policies, with particular attention to how multinational firms navigate technological and geographical challenges.
