Odd Rune Straume is a Professor of Economics at the School of Economics, Management and Political Science, University of Minho (Portugal). He holds a PhD in Economics (2002, University of Bergen) and a Habilitation (2008, University of Minho). His affiliations include membership in the Centre for Research in Economics and Management (NIPE), Research Fellow status at CESifo (Munich), and Research Associate at Bergen Center for Competition Law and Economics (BECCLE).

A grant from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (2010-2012) supported research on ownership implications for labor markets.
