Oche Onazi is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Stirling. Previously, he held academic positions at Northumbria University (Senior Lecturer, 2020–2023), University of Southampton (Lecturer, 2016–2020), and University of Dundee (Lecturer, 2011–2016). He is a qualified barrister and solicitor (non-practising) of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, holding a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, an LL.M from Warwick University, and an LL.B from the University of Jos.
His research spans two interconnected themes:
- Theoretical study of law from southern perspectives, integrating sociology, politics, history, and philosophy
- Law in development, examining human rights–development relationships, community-based approaches, and moral-philosophical perspectives on poverty
