Obed Adonteng-Kissi is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Arts and Humanities at Edith Cowan University. He teaches social work courses including SWK2108 (Addictions and Practice), SWK2010 (Child Protection Theory), and SWK5224 (Honours Research Design). His research focuses on human rights perspectives in social work with immigrants, child labor, communal conflicts, and mining impacts on communities. He holds a PhD from La Trobe University (2019), a Master of Philosophy (Ghana, 2010), and a Bachelor of Education (Ghana, 1999).
Research interests include child welfare, child protection, community development, and migrants' mental health. Recent articles address mental health barriers for African migrants in Australia, child labor in Ghana, and environmental impacts of mining. His work emphasizes cultural responsiveness and policy implementation. He is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
