Oana Grad

Oana Grad is a Senior Researcher III (Cercetător recunoscut R2) at the National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies (INCDTIM) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where she works in the Materials, Energy and Advanced Technologies Department within the Porous Materials and Carbon Nanostructures Research Group.

Her research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis and porous materials, with particular expertise in green chemistry applications, biomass valorization, and carbon nanostructure synthesis. Her work bridges fundamental chemistry with practical environmental applications, especially in CO₂ capture and conversion technologies.

Dr. Grad has led multiple significant research projects including CO₂-HyBrid (2020-2023) for post-combustion CO₂ capture, CO₂ methanation using MOF-based catalysts (2020-2022), and Metal-doped MOFs for Energy Storage (2016-2019). These projects demonstrate her leadership in developing advanced catalytic materials for environmental sustainability.

She maintains active collaborations with Babeș-Bolyai University, Polytechnic University of Bucharest, and international partners including SINTEF AS in Norway. Her research methodology combines synthesis of novel materials with comprehensive structural and morphological characterization.

Dr. Grad completed her PhD in Chemistry in 2012 through a cotutelle program between Babeș-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, Romania and University of Rouen, France, establishing her foundation in advanced materials chemistry that continues to drive her current research directions.
