Oana Caluseriu

Dr. Oana Caluseriu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. She practices as a medical geneticist specializing in rare prenatal and pediatric disorders, with clinical and research emphases on phenotype characterization and molecular diagnosis.

Her research focuses on applying next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques for gene identification and variant functional characterization, directly impacting patient diagnosis. She leads the Translational Genomics Hub (TGH), a precision medicine initiative under the Women & Children's Health Research Institute (WCHRI), which bridges clinical and basic research to interpret NGS data through functional studies.
