معرفی
Osman Sulak is a Professor of Anatomy at Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University Faculty of Medicine, where he has held this position since 2011. Previously, he served as Associate Professor (2006–2011) and Assistant Professor (1998–2006) at Suleyman Demirel University. He completed his PhD in Anatomy at the University of Tübingen, Germany (1997), following BSc and MSc degrees from Konya Selcuk University (1990).
His research focuses on fetal anatomical development, including the morphometric analysis of organs like the thyroid gland, kidneys, urinary bladder, and extremities. He has contributed extensively to understanding clinical implications of anatomical variations, such as mesoappendix structure, menisci morphology, and facial foramina localization. His work integrates anatomical studies with surgical applications, particularly in fetal and pediatric contexts.
Administratively, Sulak has been the Head of the Department of Orthotics and Prosthetics since 2021. He teaches courses ranging from undergraduate anatomy to master’s-level craniofacial anatomy, emphasizing practical application in clinical settings. His publications span over three decades, with a strong emphasis on fetal development and its relevance to surgical and clinical practices.
Notably, Sulak has no listed scientific awards but maintains active collaborations in anatomical research across international journals. His research interests also include the effects of environmental toxins on fetal organ development, as seen in studies involving methidathion and lithium exposure in animal models.
