Néstor Carrillo-Barral

Néstor Carrillo-Barral is a Lecturer of Plant Physiology at the University of A Coruña (UDC). He holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), following a Master's in Biotechnology and a Bachelor's in Biology at the same institution.

Research Interests include plant-induced resistance mechanisms against abiotic and biotic stresses, particularly focusing on the biological control fungi PO212 and its interactions with heavy metals (e.g., copper) and pathogens (Verticillium dahliae, Fusarium oxysporum). Additionally, he investigates seed dormancy regulation in Brassicaceae plants like Sisymbrium officinale, analyzing gene expression patterns related to dormancy and germination.
