Nynke van Polanen

Dr. Nynke van Polanen is a Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at Oxford Brookes University, affiliated with the School of Biological and Medical Sciences. She earned her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Health and MSc in Molecular Nutrition and Toxicology from Wageningen University & Research (Netherlands), followed by a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Maastricht University (2021), focusing on lipid droplets in human muscle tissue and insulin resistance using fluorescent microscopy and respirometry. Her postdoctoral work at the University of Oxford explored mitochondrial metabolism in patients with mitochondrial diseases.
