Dr. Nynke Vellinga is a Senior Researcher (mapped to Researcher in valid ranks) at the Transboundary Legal Studies Department within the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen. She specializes in the legal implications of automated mobility, cybersecurity, and AI regulation, with a particular focus on traffic law, liability, insurance, and data protection.
- Education: PhD in Law from University of Groningen (2020), dissertation on Legal Aspects of Automated Driving.
- Research Highlights: Contributions to the ITU Focus Group on Assisted and Automated Driving, leading to a technical report. Active in EU mobility data space and cybersecurity regulation for automated vehicles.
Her recent publications explore AI governance under the EU AI Act, mobility data regulation, and cybersecurity compliance in the digital age. She is a JTS Scholar under the Jantina Tammes School and a member of the Young Academy Groningen (2024 cohort).
