Nwanmegha Young, MD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery (Otolaryngology) at Yale School of Medicine and serves as the Program Site Director at the West Haven VA Healthcare System. His clinical expertise includes medical and surgical treatment of voice disorders, neurologic laryngeal conditions, and botulinum toxin therapy. He directs the Yale Medicine Speech and Swallow Program, specializing in voice and swallowing disorders for performers, teachers, and patients with head/neck cancers.
Education: MD from University of California, Davis (1999); BA from UC Berkeley (1993). Residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (2006); Fellowship at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital (2007). Board-certified in Otolaryngology since 2008.
Research focuses on swallowing disorders, botulinum toxin applications, and head/neck cancer outcomes. Notable publications address dysphagia in veterans, post-COVID staff safety protocols, and surgical innovations for glottic stenosis. Recognized in Connecticut Magazine's 'Top Doctors' annually since 2021.
