Nusrat Homaira

Associate Professor Nusrat Homaira is a medically trained respiratory epidemiologist with 15+ years of child health research experience across global settings. Currently at University of New South Wales, she leads the Epidemiology of Common Lung Diseases of Childhood (CoLD) research program. Her methodological expertise spans outbreak investigations, health data linkage, and mixed-methods research design.

• Adjunct faculty at BRAC University, Bangladesh (Epidemiology course coordinator)
• Member of key organizations: International Society for Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses (ISIRV), Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ)

Research Focus: Intersection of childhood respiratory infections and chronic conditions, particularly asthma. Utilizes implementation science to improve care models for underserved populations through projects like Asthma Care from Home. Major grants include:
