Nuru M. Said

Nuru M. Said is an Associate Professor at King Abdulaziz University’s Faculty of Earth Sciences, Department of Minerals and Rocks, and an Adjunct Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia’s Centre for Exploration Targeting. His research focuses on igneous petrology, geochemistry, and geodynamics of magmatic systems, with a specialization in ore deposit genesis and mineralization processes across geological terranes.

• Education: PhD in Geochemistry (2009) and BSc from The University of Western Australia.

His work integrates geochemical, isotopic, and tectonic analyses to unravel mineral system evolution, particularly in Archean-Proterozoic and Neoproterozoic terranes. Research spans magmatic-hydrothermal interactions, metallogeny, and geodynamic settings, including studies on gold, sulphide, and phosphorite deposits.

Recent publications highlight Neoproterozoic tectonic settings in China, Silurian magmatism in the Yangtze Block, Carlin-type gold deposits, and Ediacaran phosphogenesis. Key keywords include geochemistry, tectonics, mineralization, and mantle plumes.
