Nuran EKİCİ is an Associate Professor at Trakya University, Faculty of Education, Department of Mathematics and Science Education. She has held various administrative roles including Deputy Head of Department and ERASMUS Faculty Coordinator. Her academic career began in 2000 as a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biology, and she has since contributed extensively to plant cytology, embryology, and science education.

Research Interests:
Nuran EKİCİ’s research spans plant cytology, embryology, and science education. She has conducted extensive studies on the development of male and female gametophytes, pollen biology, and ultrastructural features of plant reproductive systems. Her work often employs electron microscopy to explore cellular and subcellular structures in species such as Leucojum aestivum, Gagea villosa, and Castilleja wightii.
In science education, she has focused on project-based learning, conceptual change strategies, and biotechnology education, aiming to improve science literacy and teacher training.

Nuran EKİCİ is affiliated with the Electron Microscopy Laboratory at Trakya University and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams in plant biology, biotechnology, and science education. She is a member of the Turkish Electron Microscopy Association and Medical Biology Association.
