Nur Centel is a Professor at the Law School of Koç University, specializing in Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law. She graduated with an LL.B from Ankara University in 1971 and earned her PhD in Public Law from Istanbul University in 1983.

Her research focuses on criminal execution law, criminology, rule of law principles, defendants' rights, economic crimes, gender-based violence legislation, and gender equality prevention. She actively contributes to criminal law scholarship and legal education.
