Normand Gendron is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at Mount Saint Vincent University, within the School of Business and Tourism. He holds a BBA and MBA, alongside professional designations as a CPA and CMA. With over 23 years of experience in finance roles for municipal governments, charities, and nonprofits, he has focused on sectors such as environment, early childhood education, and arts. He joined the Mount as a full-time instructor in 2022, having previously served as a sessional instructor since 2014 and as a student in 2006.
His research interests include adult learning in uncertain conditions, the application of role-play in accounting education, and the development of a Canadian-focused textbook on nonprofit financial management. He is pursuing an MA-Ed degree, with a thesis examining ideological threats to community development and adult learning.
Dr. Gendron teaches a wide range of courses, including Introductory and Managerial Accounting, Finance, Operations Management, and Business Ethics. He actively engages with community organizations through volunteer work, offering expertise in financial and risk management, grant applications, and strategic planning. His office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays 11:30 AM–1:00 PM.
