Norman Herr

Norman Herr, Ph.D., is a Professor of Science Education & Educational Technology at California State University, Northridge. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, an M.S. from the University of California, Davis, and a B.S. from the University of California, Irvine.

• Research Interests: Science education, educational technology, curriculum development, computer-supported collaborative learning, and teaching methods.
• Program Leadership: Director of the CSUN Master's Program in Science Education, Coordinator of the Credential Program in Science Education, and Math & Science Teacher Initiative.

His publications include seminal books such as The Sourcebook for Teaching Science, Hands-On Chemistry Activities, and Hands-On Physics Activities. Dr. Herr has secured over 95 grants exceeding $9 million from organizations like the National Science Foundation, NASA, and the W.M. Keck Foundation. Outside academia, he is an avid outdoorsman involved with the CSUN Christian Faculty Association and La Montaña Christian Camps in Costa Rica.
