Dr. Norline Wild is an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education at Niagara University's College of Education, a position she has held since 2023. She brings over twenty years of experience working with children and families in diverse settings to her role in preparing future educators.
Her educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction and the Science of Learning with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from the University at Buffalo (2022)
- Master of Social Work (Clinical Focus) from Boston College (2003)
- Bachelor of Arts in Human Services (Summa Cum Laude) from Northeastern University (2001)
Dr. Wild's research is centered on the transformative potential of picturebooks in early childhood education. She investigates how these resources can foster identity, diversity, justice, and action within classroom communities. Her work emphasizes creating inclusive and equitable learning environments that support children's holistic development—socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. By bridging her background in social work and education, she aims to equip educators with practical strategies for building classroom communities grounded in social justice principles.
With extensive experience as a Curriculum Coordinator at UB’s Early Childhood Research Center and in various educational settings, Dr. Wild is dedicated to mentoring future teachers. She serves on several advisory boards, including St. Stephen School Advisory Board and the Early Childhood Research Center Advisory Board, contributing to community and educational initiatives.
