Norbert Meyendorf is a Part-Time Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Dayton. He serves as Director of the Center for Materials Diagnostics and Co-Director of the UD-Fraunhofer Joint Research Center. His expertise spans nondestructive materials characterization, nanotechnology, and advanced materials testing. Meyendorf holds a Sc.D. in Materials Engineering from University Magdeburg and a Ph.D. in Physics from Martin-Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg.

Meyendorf chairs SPIE conferences and advises the Center for Micro- and Nano-Materials in Berlin.
His honors include the 2001 SPIE Best Paper Award. Meyendorf collaborates internationally, bridging academic and industrial applications in aerospace, energy, and manufacturing sectors.
