Nora Rifon is a Professor in the Department of Advertising, Public Relations, and Retailing at Michigan State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Business, with M.A. and B.A. degrees in Psychology.

Her research focuses on consumer privacy and online safety, marketing communications strategies, corporate reputation, and pro-social behaviors, including work on messaging to address stigmatized behavior and environmental protection. She also explores children and media, behavior risk reduction, and consumer donations to not-for-profits.
Dr. Rifon has published in journals such as Communications of the ACM, New Media and Society, The Journal of Advertising, and Advances in Consumer Research. Her work appears in international conference proceedings and interdisciplinary journals.
She has served on the Executive Committee and Publications Committee of the American Academy of Advertising and sits on the editorial review boards of The Journal of Advertising, The Journal of Consumer Affairs, and The Journal of Interactive Advertising.
