Noori Saady is an Assistant Professor in Environmental Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland's Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, holding P.Eng. certification. His research develops sustainable waste treatment technologies converting organic waste into bioenergy through anaerobic digestion and microbial fuel cells.
Research focuses on cold-climate biotechnology solutions for agricultural waste, nutrient management, and emerging contaminant remediation. Specializations include psychrophilic anaerobic digestion, biomass conversion, and innovative water treatment technologies.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on renewable energy generation from waste streams, particularly livestock manure and agricultural residues under challenging environmental conditions. Recent work expands into water purification and hydrogen energy systems.
Awards include the 2023 Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence and multiple research grants. Current projects include NSERC Discovery-funded work on waste-to-energy systems and Canadian Agricultural Partnership initiatives. Leads research on biogas potential from dairy farms and arsenic removal technologies.
Supervises multiple graduate students in environmental engineering projects and has received media recognition for research on mussel shell water purification. Teaches courses including Environmental Assessment, Soil Remediation, and Air Pollution.
