Dr. Noha Gomaa is an Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine at Schulich Dentistry and an Associate Scientist at Lawson Health Research Institute, with cross-appointments in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University. She combines expertise in oral pathology with interdisciplinary research in social epidemiology, neuroscience, and social/behavioural epigenetics.
- Education: PhD in Dentistry from University of Toronto
- Appointments: Clinician-scientist fellowship at Hospital for Sick Children; Public Health Policy fellowship at Dalla Lana School of Public Health
Her research program focuses on biopsychosocial factors in health inequalities across the life-course, particularly examining social/environmental risk factors like early-life adversity and psychosocial stress that impact oral health and related multi-morbidities. She has collaborated with policymakers to develop dental care programs for marginalized populations including low-income children.
