معرفی
Noel Aloysius is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia, with a joint appointment in the School of Natural Resources. His expertise spans hydroclimatology, coupled human-natural systems, and environmental informatics, focusing on watershed-scale modeling, water-food security, and pollution dynamics. He teaches courses like Watershed Modeling Using GIS and Observing the Earth from Space.
Education:
- Ph.D., Yale University (2015)
- M.S., University of North Dakota (2006)
- B.Sc.Eng., University of Peradeniya (1997)
Research Focus
Noel’s research explores how climate, landscapes, and agricultural practices influence hydrological cycles and pollution transport at regional to continental scales. His work integrates field data, remote sensing, and numerical models to address environmental change impacts on water resources and sustainable land management.
Key Contributions
He contributes to the Gulf Hypoxia Task Force’s SERA-46 consortium, analyzing agricultural pollution and hypoxia in the Gulf of Mexico. His group also investigates remote-sensing applications for resource management and large-scale hydrological modeling.
Labs & Affiliations
Based in the Agricultural Engineering Building (Office 227, Lab 138), Noel actively mentors graduate students and collaborates across departments.
