Professor Noam Lubell is a leading academic in International Law of Armed Conflict at the University of Essex, where he also serves as Director of the Essex Armed Conflict and Crisis Hub (since 2017). He previously held the Swiss Chair of International Humanitarian Law at The Geneva Academy (2013–2019) and was Head of the Law School at Essex (2014–2017). His roles include Rapporteur of the International Law Association's Committee on the Use of Force (2010–2018) and Senior Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (US), focusing on legal aspects of new military technologies.
