Noah Bressman is an Assistant Professor of Physiology in the Biological Sciences department at Salisbury University. He holds expertise in marine and organismal biology with a research focus on the amphibious behaviors of invasive fish species, including Northern Snakeheads and Walking Catfish.
His interdisciplinary work investigates terrestrial locomotion mechanics, survival adaptations, and orientation behaviors in amphibious fishes. Current collaborations with Maryland DNR, Delaware DNREC, and USGS examine the ecology of invasive species like Blue Catfish. Research themes include:
- Biomechanics of terrestrial movement
- Invasive species management
- Sensory adaptations for land navigation
Publication analysis reveals strong emphasis on functional morphology, biomechanical adaptations, and ecological impacts of invasive fishes. Recent articles frequently address mucus biophysics, skeletal ontogeny, and chemosensory navigation.
As an active science communicator, he creates biological art, TED-Ed lessons, and scientific blogs to disseminate research.
