Noémi Makkos serves as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Music of the Berlin University of the Arts, where she works as Gábor Tarkövi's assistant, and maintains an active performance career as second trumpeter with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra since 2019 and substitute trumpeter with the Staatskapelle Berlin since 2018.
Her educational background includes foundational studies at Budapest's St. Stephen's Conservatory of Music, undergraduate training at Mozarteum University Salzburg (2010-2014) under Hans Gansch culminating in a distinction, and dual master's degrees from Karlsruhe University of Music with Reinhold Friedrich and Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen with Laura Vukobratovic.
Makkos has established herself as a prize-winning trumpeter through competitions in Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Austria, while building extensive orchestral experience with ensembles including the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, European Union Youth Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, and Karajan Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic. Her professional trajectory further includes deputy principal trumpeter positions with the Essen Philharmonic and WDR Funkhausorchester in Cologne.
Her career uniquely integrates elite performance practice with dedicated pedagogy, significantly contributing to trumpet education at both the Barenboim-Said Academy and Berlin University of the Arts through mentorship and specialized instruction in brass performance techniques.
