He holds a PhD from University College Dublin and has held academic positions at institutions like the University of Chicago and University of Detroit Mercy. His research focuses on vertebrate morphology, Mesozoic chronostratigraphy, and bioinformatics, with notable expeditions to the Sahara Desert's fossil beds.
Education: BSc (Bristol, UK), PhD (University College Dublin, Ireland), Postdoctoral Scholar (University of Chicago). Awards include TED Fellow and National Geographic Explorer.
Research interests emphasize vertebrate paleontology, particularly African Mesozoic fauna, pterosaur evolution, and paleoenvironmental reconstruction. His work bridges academic research and public outreach, including TED Talks, documentaries, and National Geographic collaborations. His studies on Spinosaurus and Cretaceous ecosystems have been widely featured in Science and National Geographic.
