Alyson Brink

Dr. Alyson Brink is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her research focuses on vertebrate paleontology with an emphasis on Late Cretaceous mammals, paleogeography, and stratigraphic analysis. She holds a PhD in Geoscience/Vertebrate Paleontology from Texas Tech University (2016) and a BA from Texas A&M University (1991).

Her work explores Mesozoic ecosystems through studies of theropod teeth, Cretaceous fish faunas, and mammalian evolution in Appalachia. Notable contributions include analysis of the Aguja Formation's stratigraphy and vertebrate assemblages in West Texas. She is affiliated with the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology.

Recent research highlights include investigations into Middle Miocene fungal records and latitudinal variations in Campanian faunas. Her studies integrate sedimentology, biostratigraphy, and taphonomy to reconstruct ancient environments and ecological interactions.
