Nitya E. Abraham

Nitya E. Abraham, MD, is an Associate Professor of Urology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Vice Chair of the Department of Urology at Montefiore Medical Center. Her clinical and research expertise focuses on urinary biomarkers for underactive bladder, clinical care pathways for overactive bladder, female sexual dysfunction, and surgical management of benign prostatic enlargement.

• Education: Summa cum laude graduate of the University of Connecticut (BS), MD and urology residency at New York University, fellowship in female pelvic medicine at Cleveland Clinic.

Her research integrates clinical innovation with medical education, resulting in over 45 peer-reviewed publications and funding from the Department of Defense and SUFU. She serves as Urology Residency Program Director since 2020 and contributes to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine curriculum committee.

Clinical Expertise: Urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, urethral reconstruction, mesh complications, and pelvic floor disorders using robotic, open, or vaginal approaches.
