Nitin Barve is a Lecturer in the Department of Finance at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business. He joined in 2014 and teaches courses in Derivatives, Applied Portfolio Management, Investments, and Risk Management. With over 30 years of experience, he has held roles as an executive, researcher, academic, and entrepreneur in global financial services firms like Citibank, Wells Fargo, and Charles Schwab. He has led cross-functional teams across the US, Luxembourg, Bermuda, and India, emphasizing practical insights for students entering the investment industry.
- Education: MS from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai; BS from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
- Certifications: CFA Charter holder.
His research and teaching focus on derivatives, FinTech, and risk management. He has authored articles on these topics and spoken at industry events for 15 years. Additionally, he has taught over 100 courses for the CFA Review Program (San Francisco) and graduate-level Financial Engineering courses at Saint Mary’s College.
