Nitesh Chawla is the Frank M. Freimann Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and Founding Director of the Lucy Family Institute for Data and Society at the University of Notre Dame.
His research focuses on artificial intelligence, data science, and network science with emphasis on technology's role in advancing the common good through interdisciplinary collaboration. Key research thrusts include graph neural networks, large language models for scientific discovery, handling imbalanced data challenges, and translational AI applications.
