Dr. Nino Brown is Assistant Professor of Peanut Breeding in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at the University of Georgia's College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Based at the Tifton campus, his research focuses on developing improved peanut varieties with enhanced yield, disease resistance, and stress tolerance.
His work integrates traditional breeding with advanced technologies including UAV-based phenotyping and robotic field monitoring. Research areas include drought tolerance mechanisms, photosynthetic efficiency, and nematode resistance in peanut cultivars.
Recent publications demonstrate his focus on both fundamental plant physiology and applied agricultural technology, with innovations in field robotics and imaging techniques complementing cultivar development efforts.
