Ningzhong Li is a Professor of Accounting at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. He holds a Ph.D. and MBA from the University of Chicago, along with an M.A. in Finance from Peking University. His research focuses on artificial intelligence applications in corporate governance, political economy influences on financial decisions, debt contracting mechanisms, supply chain transparency, corporate disclosure practices, and ESG initiatives.
Key contributions include studies on generative AI’s impact on corporate information environments, CSR tradeoffs involving labor practices and pollution, and political connections affecting subsidy disclosures. He has been recognized with multiple best paper awards, including first place at the MIT Asia Conference in Accounting (2017) and nominations for teaching excellence and mentoring.
Professional roles include editorial board memberships at The Accounting Review and International Journal of Accounting, and service on university committees such as the Research Integrity Committee and PhD TA Supervision Committee. His presentations span global institutions including Yale, Tsinghua University, and the AAA Annual Meeting.
Current projects explore federal budget allocation tied to agency accounting quality, anti-subsidy actions’ disclosure effects, and government transparency’s impact on tax avoidance.
