Ning Cao is an Assistant Professor and La Borde Chair in Engineering Entrepreneurship at the Ron and Jane Graham School of Professional Development, part of the University of Saskatchewan's College of Engineering. He holds an MBA, MSc, and is a Professional Engineer (PEng). His research focuses on Engineering Entrepreneurship, Technological Innovation, and the Teaching of Entrepreneurship, with emphasis on curricular alignment with institutional culture and pandemic-era educational adaptations.
Teaching includes courses such as Engineering Economics, Entrepreneurship Capstone, and Technological Innovation Management. His work bridges engineering innovation with business strategy, particularly in Canada's healthcare and bioengineering sectors. Research spans tissue engineering market analysis, educational program design, and entrepreneurship pedagogy.
Publications highlight interdisciplinary efforts in entrepreneurship education and biomaterials, including studies on alginate-based scaffolds and pandemic-driven educational pivots. He has presented at conferences like ASEE and CEEA, addressing topics such as entrepreneurial mindset development and institutional strategies.
