Prof. Dr. Nine Miedema is a full-time Professor of Medieval German Literature and Language at the Department of German Studies - Medieval Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Saarland University. She has been a member of the Cluster for European Research (CEUS) since 2021 and serves as Dean of the Philosophische Fakultät from October 2024 to September 2026.
Her research focuses on German literature of the Middle Ages (ca. 800–1500), including works like the Hildebrandslied, Nibelungenlied, and Arthurian epics, combined with linguistic analysis of the German language's historical development. She emphasizes interdisciplinary methodologies, integrating cultural history, manuscript materiality, and digital humanities.
