PD Dr. Julia Frick is an Acting Professor at the University of Zurich, specializing in German Language and Literature History of the Late Middle Ages within the Faculty of Philosophy. She is affiliated with the Institute of German Studies and holds office hours for student consultations on Tuesdays 11:00–12:00 by appointment.

Her research focuses on the intersection of medieval literature, cultural history, media studies, and manuscript analysis. Recent projects explore the poetics of abbreviation in Middle High German epic poetry and the historical significance of the Strasbourg astronomical clock as a cultural artifact.
Julia Frick has co-edited the 2025 publication ZeitWerk (Media Change - Media Knowledge 47) and authored the 2024 monograph Poetics of Abbreviation (Bibliotheca Germanica 80). These works reflect her expertise in medieval textual practices and interdisciplinary media analysis.
