Nina Goga

Professor Nina Goga is affiliated with the Department of Language, Literature, Mathematics and Interpreting at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. She specializes in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of children’s literature, ecocriticism, and educational didactics, with a focus on sustainable literacy and environmental engagement in early education.

Her research explores how children’s nonfiction and picturebooks address climate change, interspecies relationships, and pedagogical strategies for fostering environmental awareness. Recent publications analyze aesthetic and ecocritical approaches in educational contexts, emphasizing collaboration and digital tools.

While her work centers on empirical studies of student teachers’ engagement with green literature, it also investigates how adult reviewers assess calls to action in climate-themed children’s nonfiction. Her 2022 paper in International Research in Children's Literature highlights the role of self-selected picturebooks in shaping eco-conscious pedagogy.
