Nina A Bickell

Nina A. Bickell, MD, MPH, is a Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, affiliated with both the Tisch Cancer Institute (TCI) and the Department of Population Health Science and Policy. She serves as Associate Director of Community Engaged and Equity Research, Co-Leader of TCI's Cancer Prevention and Control Program, and Co-Director of the Center for Health Equity and Community Engaged Research. Dr. Bickell is a practicing primary care internist at the Mount Sinai Diagnostic and Treatment Center.

• Education: MD from New York Medical College, Residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, Preventive Medicine Residency & MPH in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Fellowship at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Her research focuses on reducing racial and ethnic disparities in cancer care, improving care quality, continuity, and coordination, and advancing community-engaged and implementation research. She led an 11-year NIMHD-funded grant project in Harlem and pioneered the TCI Cancer Care Accelerator and the New York City Cancer Consortium to address disparities collaboratively.

Dr. Bickell contributes to institutional leadership through TCI's Cancer Population Science Steering Committee, Cancer Clinical Research Steering Committee, and Education Committee. She previously held a senior clinical research scientist role at the New York State Department of Health's Office of Quality Improvement.
