Nima Jangouk is a Lecturer in the Department of Sociological and Anthropological Studies at the University of Ottawa. He also taught at Carleton University and Concordia University. He holds a PhD in Socio-Anthropology from the University of Ottawa (2023), supervised by Julie Laplante. His research focuses on non-verbal communication, embodied practices, and altered states of consciousness across medical, religious, and musical contexts. He explores topics such as Sufism, sound healing, and ethnographic methodologies.
