Nilay Aral, MSc serves as a Researcher at the Center for Learning Systems Design and Transformation within the Faculty of Education, Arts and Architecture at the University for Continuing Education Krems. Based at Dr.-Karl-Dorrek-Straße 30 in Krems, Austria, Aral actively contributes to educational technology research with focus on STEM assessment systems.
Research interests center on mathematics assessment innovation, particularly computerized adaptive testing for engineering education and authentic STEM evaluation frameworks. Work emphasizes practical implementation of formative assessment tools to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application in technical disciplines.
Recent publications reveal strong specialization in item calibration methodologies and transversal skills measurement within STEM contexts. Research consistently addresses gaps in practical skill assessment across engineering, sports science, and mathematics education domains.
Aral collaborates extensively on EU-funded initiatives including the ATSSTEM and T.E.S.T. projects, demonstrating expertise in technology-enhanced assessment design. Current work focuses on formative math-skill testing systems to promote MINT (STEM) studies through the Formative Math-Skill-Testing project.
