Dr. Nikolaos Lampas is an Assistant Professor of International Relations and European Studies at Deree – The American College of Greece. He teaches courses in International Relations theories, foreign policy analysis, global markets, and strategy. His research focuses on American foreign policy, migration securitization, and refugee-related security perceptions, with affiliations to the International Studies Association and the Hellenic Society of International Law.

Research interests emphasize migration security dynamics, rogue state behavior, and U.S. strategy toward 'rogue states'. He has published a book on U.S.-Rogue State relations and peer-reviewed articles in Mediterranean Quarterly, Political Studies Review, and others. His work critically examines refugee stereotypes, EU-Turkey agreements, and NATO's strategic implications for Greece-Turkey relations.
Publications span 2015-2023, covering themes like NATO strategy, realism policy relevance, pandemic securitization failures, and refugee radicalization risks in Greece. His analysis often bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical case studies in geopolitical hotspots.
