Niklas Nielsen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University, and a consultant in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Helsingborg Hospital. He leads the International Cardiac Arrest Registry (INTCAR) and serves as Principal Investigator for the TTM2-trial.
His research focuses on post-cardiac arrest care, temperature management, clinical trial methodology, and patient outcomes. Recent studies include proteomic analysis of cardiac arrest biomarkers, fluid resuscitation protocols for septic shock, and virtual psychoeducational interventions (V-CARE) for survivors.
He supervises two PhD students and collaborates on multiple projects within the TTM-study group, supported by grants from the Swedish Heart and Lung Foundation, Swedish Research Council, and regional healthcare funding bodies.
