Nikkie Wiegink is an Associate Professor in Cultural Anthropology at the Department of Cultural Anthropology, Utrecht University. Her research focuses on corporate sovereignty, resource extraction, and post-war social reconstruction in Mozambique. She has conducted extensive fieldwork in Tete province, analyzing how transnational mining corporations assume governance roles and reshape citizenship. She is currently a NIAS Fellow (2024–2025) for her book project on Frontier Governance.
