Nikki Lloyd-Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at Wrexham University, with over 20 years of clinical experience as a specialist nurse. She has undertaken surgical missions in South America, Sarajevo, and Gaza, and focuses on the research process to develop evidence-based arguments in education. Her work emphasizes creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking in student development.
Her academic research centers on identity and decision-making in nursing, particularly addressing methods for preparing nurses as 'accountable' practitioners. Using ethnomethodology (Garfinkel, 2004) and the philosophy of conversation (Gadamer, 2004), she advocates for narrative dialectics to evaluate personal and professional standards in everyday practice. Recent projects include funded studies on 'transition to civilian life,' hospital transfer decision-making, and reflective entrepreneurship as an empowerment initiative.
