Nikki Carter is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Texas at Tyler, also affiliated with the History department. She holds two Master's degrees: one in History and another in Political Science. Her teaching portfolio includes courses such as American History 1301/1302, World Civilizations I, American Government, and Texas Politics. She co-advises the Webb Historical Society (History Club).
Her research interests span American, European, and World history, with a focus on social, political, intellectual, and medical history. Notable historical periods of interest include the Civil War, World War II, and the Civil Rights Movements. She emphasizes the evolving interpretation of history, aligning with Frederick Jackson Turner’s perspective on historical reinterpretation.
Outside academia, Carter enjoys outdoor activities like walking in local parks, traveling, and participating in sports (baseball and soccer).
